I have my Level 3 Adapting exercise for the older adults and Chair Based Exercise for the Elderly.
Currently I go to different nursing homes and sheltered accommodation in Maidstone and Medway to carry out 30-40 minutes of exercise. The people that come too these classes love them, and have told me how much better they feel since they have been doing them.
Regular exercise helps loosen joints in the body and releases endorphins which is proven to make you less stressful and happier.
When I take my sessions, they last 30-40 minutes. The music I use, varies from classic crooners, to party music, to the recent music played on the radio, this depends on the clients preferred choice.
The whole session can be performed standing up, or sitting down. Starting off with a light stretch and warm up of the body. I incorporate different props, such as flags, balls, balloons and sticks to make the session enjoyable. The sessions will be planned appropriately to the people that are taking part.
I also teach Zumba Gold!
Zumba Gold is aimed at the older active adult, or the beginners into fitness. Its a low impact Zumba class, with no jumping and twisting. Its lots of fun, and has different Latin music that you cannot resist to move too!
